Bringing a wide breadth of legal, technology, and business experience, Alex Mejias launched the Law Office of Alex Mejias to serve emerging companies in the tech industry. Prior to founding the firm, Alex worked in-house at Foster Made, a web and software development company, providing general counsel legal support, strategic guidance, and business development leadership.
Driven by a passion for transformative technologies, Alex began working with startups and projects in the cryptocurrency industry in early 2018 - advising in the areas of regulatory compliance, intellectual property, general legal counsel, as well as strategic and technical consulting. Since that time, Alex has distinguished himself as a legal practitioner with both a deep understanding of the technical foundations of distribution ledger technology as well as the strategic and economic incentives in the development of token-driven networks.
Beyond his experience in business and law, Alex has invested his time and energy into improving the Richmond community. In early 2017, Alex founded the Business Coalition for Justice, a non-profit that seeks to raise awareness in the business community about racial inequity and to mobilize businesses for social action. Along with community members and members of the BCJ, Alex helped to launched the Richmond Community Bail Fund, Virginia's first charitable bail fund, in June 2017. The Richmond Community Bail Fund provides indigent clients with access to free bail and transportation to court, helping them successfully navigate the often complex pre-trial system in Richmond and Henrico.
