Bringing a wide breadth of business and legal experience, Alex Mejias launched the Law Office of Alex Mejias in 2018 to serve emerging companies in the tech industry. Having worked with a variety of small businesses and on some of the most high profile cases in U.S. history, including the Deepwater Horizon Settlement Program (resolving claims from the 2010 B.P. Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico) and the N.F.L. Concussion Settlement, Alex enjoys tackling challenges both big and small. In addition to practicing law, Alex has led business development and strategy at Foster Made, a web and software development company, since 2015. Drawing on these experiences, Alex is able to offer both legal counsel and strategic thinking.
Beyond his experience in business and law, Alex has invested his time and energy into improving the Richmond community. In early 2017, Alex founded the Business Coalition for Justice, a non-profit that seeks to raise awareness in the business community about racial inequity and to mobilize businesses for social action. Along with community members and members of the BCJ, Alex helped to launched the Richmond Community Bail Fund, Virginia's first charitable bail fund, in June 2017. The Richmond Community Bail Fund provides indigent clients with access to free bail and transportation to court, helping them successfully navigate the often complex pre-trial system in Richmond and Henrico.
